Little Bears Forest Preschool

Shore Ave, Portsmouth PO4 8NB, UK – 07544 112751

Visited with a College student, the student and I welcomed by all the staff. The children were happy and stimulated with indoor and outdoor activities.Nurturing environment and if my son was pre school age again I would want him to attend. Fantastic experience, thank you.

My daughter attended Little Bears until she started school in September. I cannot express what a wonderful time my daughter had and how much she loved the staff, she had the best experience I could have wished for. The children are loved and nurtured so much, which was what I wanted most for my daughter, plus she got to play outside and get muddy every day! I only wish I could’ve taken my older son to Little Bears at that age too, so that he could’ve had the same experience.

Stepping Stones

16 Bruce Rd, Portsmouth, Southsea PO4 9RL, UK – 023 9242 1718

I cannot fault the staff who take very good care of my 2 year old grandson. He has developed amazingly well. He is always happy and wanting to go. They have also cared for his older brother who attended there a few years ago. They have a good understanding of their individual needs and bring out the best in the child.

Amazing staff. Great environment for any child.

After School Care

St Ronans Nursing and Residential Care Home

23-31 St. Ronans Rd, Portsmouth PO4 0PP, UK – 023 9273 3359

Since my wife came to St Ronans almost a year ago with dementia and hardly communicating at all, the difference over the months is simply joyful and amazing. Her care individually is so good - always clean and tidy - cream on her dry skin and lipstick on! My wife laughs all the time, goes on all the bus trips for picnics every two weeks, lovely entertainment singing and dancing of which she does enjoy. All our family are so grateful for all care and efforts made to ensure her life continues in a happy and positive way. Her hair regularly done by the hairdresser, nails done by the manicurist and with pink polish, she loves that. As a family, our sons and my wife's sisters and me are welcomed any time with smiles, hugs and hot tea. Wonderful, full marks for all at St Ronans, Tony.

Amazing friendly staff, always willing to help. thanks for the love and care that you showed my Nan during her last days. you girls are angels.

Kumon Maths & English

St James Church Hall, Milton Rd, Portsmouth, Southsea PO4 8PG, UK – 01730 301177

After joining Kumon, my son is quiet confindent in his english and maths. His reading skills is improving and he always ahead of maths lessons at school. I can see his concentration on his study is becoming amazing and always love to come Kumon class which make him confortable and more confident. My son's achievement make me more faith in Kumon and the teacher for his learing journey. Highly recommend for the children .

I registered my sons with the English program. One of my sons was just 4 when he started and picked up tremendously with his reading skills. I then registered my daughter with the English and Maths program when she was just 3 . Now she reads on her own without any difficulty and I feel Kumon had a major part in this. My kids are on the program for about 3 years now. They have a wonderful team helping the kids. I highly recommend the program to all especially the younger ones.

Secondary Schools

Priory School

Fawcett Rd, Portsmouth, Southsea PO4 0DL, UK – 07955 427074

It was better before the academy. The 'management' don't seem to know how to get the best out of the less school orientated kids so they get labelled 'bad'. Never used to be that way. Need some education for the head and all the decent people he has replaced over the time!

I live nearby so it was quite good.

The Portsmouth Academy

Independent Schools

Portsmouth High School (GDST)

25 Kent Rd, Portsmouth, Southsea PO5 3EQ, UK – 023 9282 6714

We have only been attending this school for a very short time, but in that time I can seen a significant positive change in my daughter. She has got her energy and enthusiasm for school back and that is down to the wonderful knowledgeable and inspirational staff, fantastic facilities and great opportunities at PHS. I would highly recommend and if I could, would give it more than 5 stars!

Our involvement with PHS goes back 11 years during which time all three of our daughters have attended. I can honestly say that the school is first class and has offered my girls fantastic opportunities. We were attracted to the small class sizes which means girls receive more attention than they would elsewhere. An all girl school means they don't have the added distraction of a mixed environment. Our girls have been very happy and formed long lasting friendships and to top it off exam results are best in the area - what more could you ask for.

TEG English Portsmouth

7-9 Edinburgh Rd, Portsmouth PO1 1DE, UK – 023 9273 2113

I had the great opportunity of working and studying at TEG English school in Portsmouth. All the people that work in the school are amazing and they are always willing to help and support you everytime you need it. Furthermore, they are very friendly and welcoming and always do the best to make students happy. The level of the courses is impeccable and all the teachers are excellent professionals. If you want to improve your English and to have a great time in U.K., TEG is the best place to do it:) Thanks for giving me the possibility of having an amazing work experience. I've learnt a lot thanks to you. Working with you and all the students of the school was one of the best experiences of my life. See you soon

When I moved to the UK and started my first office-based job, I was not confident enough about my written and spoken communication skills. I was terrified of picking up the phone to deal with a customer enquiry and it would take me an extremely long time to reply to even very basic emails. I felt like things were really getting to me and I feared I would lose my job if I couldn’t manage to sort things out, so I decided to search for a suitable English course that could help me overcome my fears and get the confidence I so desperately needed. After shopping around and visiting a considerable amount of schools in the area, I decided to enrol with TEG Portsmouth (back then known as Portsmouth Language College). I was interviewed by the Principal and offered a suitable course to meet my needs at a very reasonable cost, and their flexible schedule allowed me to attend the lessons after work. The staff were always extremely professional, hard-working, knowledgeable and friendly; they are all a very talented group of people, happy and willing to go the extra mile every time, always with a smile. Their facilities were warm and comfortable, fitted with the latest classroom equipment and in a fantastic location, plus all the techniques used for teaching were always fun, original and engaging so the whole experience was a truly fantastic learning journey. I also made lovely friends and met really nice people during my time studying at PLC, partly because of having like-minded classmates who were in a similar position I was, but also due to the social schedule the school always put a lot of effort in offering to their students; there were always day trips, days out and evening gatherings on the agenda. I will always have very fond memories of my time at Portsmouth Language College. After all the hard work put into learning and practicing what was imparted in the classroom, I managed to obtain my Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English – something I will always be extremely proud of. I couldn’t recommend TEG Portsmouth more if what you are after is a place where to learn English with the highest quality standards.
