Very pleasant stay. Friendly helpful staff, lovely rooms. Not a 5* establishment but you certainly get what you pay for.
A lovely, clean, hotel group in Southsea. Very friendly staff, lovely rooms. A bit off the beaten track but sea and shops within walking distance. Have stayed here twice and would recommend it to anyone.

Have stayed here a couple of times. Both times i booked a “single” room and got the same room (room 5) each time. Although I expect a single room to be smaller than a double, this room is spectacularly small - you have to sidle into the bathroom to get in and out of the room. The room is quite a lot smaller than single rooms in other hotels in the same area (for the same price or less). That said, i’ve given the place 4/5 because the room, though small, was very clean and well maintained, as was the bathroom too (which is actually a decent size for a bathroom). The staff are very nice and the breakfast (included) is top quality. They don’t serve any meals besides breakfast, but they’re happy to provide plates and cutlery if you get a take-away (and there are plenty of places to eat in the area). It’s a good hotel, but between the two, i usually opt for the place next door.
I’ve never stayed in a nicer hotel in England for £85. Clean, tidy, new modern decoration. Bathroom & shower was very nice. Bed was very comfortable. It was very kind to get free New Forest bottled water. Abigail was very nice and helpful. Honestly 5* all round 😀

Stayed here on the weekend for my birthday. What a great place it was to stay. Room was very big and hotel was clean throughout. Breakfast was great and service was superb from arrival. Can't fault this place and would defiantly recommend it. Location was also great.
Pleasant hotel with pleasant staff. It is slightly overpriced in my opinion given its location and room size we had. 4 stars is generous but 3 stars would have been churlish. Tastefully decorated. Superb breakfast.

This pub was one of the top pubs in Pompey a few years back in the 2000s. Since then, it's been sold on. The wall has been knocked through and the entirety completely redecorated. For me, the atmosphere has gone. There are some cask ales kept satisfactorily. However, the place has been robbed of its charm and now seems like a facsimile of so many of the pubs in Southsea.
We went to the Florence Arms with high expectations, the guy behind the bar recommended the Sunday lunch. We order the lamb, when it arrived it was so tough and fatty were were unable to cut it. The veg served was very good. We brought this to the attention of the waiting staff. He agreed the lamb was not good and brought us out more lamb, by then we had almost finished our meal. The lamb brought out to us was tough but was enjoyed by our dog. The waiter put it in foil for us to take home for him. ( He barked thanks) We were also given 20 per cent off our meal which as £15.95 each not cheap. But nothing compensates for not having a nice meal.

Was a regular 10 years ago, but only an occasional these days (kids and work). Still a great place for a proper relaxed pint. Great stuff.
Classic real ale watering hole for any occasion. Bit stuffy tonight as it's been a scorching day today but the atmosphere here more than compensates. It's outstanding

My family and I went there just to get something to eat while waiting for our ferry, we ended up spending hours there, the food is delicious and the staff and owner are delightful and funny and we all had a great conversation with them as well as the others at the bar. I have been in the UK for about a week and this night was by far the best night I’ve had so far, highly recommend !
Slightly old fashioned type of pub. This is not a criticism, I usually stop off here for a couple of beers and a bite to eat before getting on the ferry. Its always welcoming and the beer is decent.

Nice and cosy. Breakfast was very good, prepared exactly to our taste. Rooms were airy but warm and very clean. Will stay there again and recommend any day.
We would highly recommend this place to stay. The owners were very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Many thanks for an enjoyable stay and will definitely here again. Mr and Mrs Bentley. Sarah and Shirley.

A basic old school b&b where I had 2 nights of great sleep plus good wifi, plenty of tv channels and a very friendly proprietor, even made me beans on toast before breakfast began. Can't really ask for more 🙂
Great place to stay would recommend

After realising of booked a room weeks later than I should of, albeit there wasnt any rooms available for the day i needed Mike at Abbey Lodge was extremely understanding & helpful. For this I hope to book again on a future visit to the area.
Was a last minute booking, and they were very accommodating. The gentleman gave me recommendations for food in the local area. The Room was clean and well presented, and the beds were very comfy. Toiletries were provided along with clean towels etc. Parking was a bit of a pain but that is the only negative. Highly recommended!
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Good caravan park that is being updated as it’s a bit old and in need of modernisation. Friendly staff. A bit disappointed that outdoor pool not open given the recent hot weather. Good bar that is run by friendly staff. Right on the beach looking over to Isle of Wight I would recommend this park a good base . It also has static caravans and lodges too . Very nice
Southsea beach... Nothing better on a sunny day. The east end is perfect for walking your dogs but don't go too far or you'll end up in the nudist beach 🏖
Eastern Rd, Portsmouth PO3 6QB, UK – 023 9266 6442
